This is an example of when a good-to -great concept goes to bad- to- very bad.
It is nearing the end of its run. If you haven’t seen it, don’t bother. It has somehow managed to take the humor and charm out of the original Men in Black,
and turn it into a sophomoric parody of itself. (Caveat: not all agree with me; I’ve heard a few “I liked it”. Okay. Opinions can differ)
I spotted the “bad guy” very early in the film. I suspect few moviegoers were surprised by “the twist”.
Tessa Thompson has given interviews about her on screen chemistry in Thor: Ragnarok with co-star Chris Hemsworth. Admittedly, I did not see Thor: Ragnarok (not every Avengers movie is on my must-see, or will see, or even might see if there is literally nothing else to do list).
Nevertheless, I did not see evidence of any chemistry going on here. Chris Hemsworth is very charming. He seemed as if he was, and he should have been, in a much better movie.
Men in Black: International is (deservedly) nearing the end of its run. I wouldn’t rush to see it before it leaves the theaters. Even on a really rainy day. But of course, that’s only my opinion.
